rom Rome, Italy, the members of Latexxx Teens are:
Alex Love Doll - Vocals
Icy Teens - Lead & Rhythm guitars, Synth & programming, Backing Vocals
Plastic Poison 69 - Synth & Programming, Guitars, Backing Vocals
I spoke with Alex Love Dolls for the interview, and here's what he said:
X: What part of Italy are you guys from?
ALD: I live in Rome and so does Joseph. Rome is a beautiful city full of history, but it's not a Rock 'N Roll city. Icy & Plastik Poison 69 in this moment live in Cosenza (a littly city in the sud of Italy)...
X: Sounds beautiful. What made you decide to write/sing in English?
ALD: When we started the band we didn't consider the possibility to write/sing
in Italian. The Italian language is good for poetry
but not for songs. I write all the Latexxx Teens lyrics, and the English is
the only way for expressing what I feel; for expressing my hate, my love, my
fuckin' chaos addicted attitude, there's another reason too: I consider Latexxx
Teens a European band, not an Italian one. To sing/write in Italian precludes
all the chances of success. English is a universal language, so everyone can
understand we're fuckin' narcissists, naughty & arriviste rock stars!!!
X: Very well said. Have you ever played outside of Italy?
ALD: No for the moment, but we've received a lot of calls, above all form U.S.A., Canada, Germany, Finland & Sweden. One day we'll play in every fuckin' country, but we want give only the best. We don't want give a simple live performance to our fans, but a theatrical experience and for this we need the time & money. We're searching a deal to record our debut, then we strat our psycho sexy radical chic revolution!!!
X: How would you describe your style of music?
ALD: I think the tracks we include in Latex (De)Generation can be considered
a bombastic example of industrial glam punk. We
mixed a lot of different styles & influences, so every fuckin' punk rocker,
pirate space, chaos affected & gothic freak could appreciate our music.
The new stuff sounds colder, darker, faster & harder. A fuckin' mix of Skold
& Wednesday 13 shaked with electronic atmospheres, powerfull bass, synthetic
voice & sick melody. Sick Avant-Guardistic Goth'N'Roll.
Do you know what I mean?
X: Absolutely, you guys really sound like you got
your shit together. What makes you different from other bands?
ALD: Other bands play, Latexxx Teens kill!!! Hahahahahaha. By the way I don't know why we're different, but we're different. We walk between the lines, we're a cirlce of fear with 13 in the middle, the next big thing in the Rock 'N Roll swindle!!! And we're proud of it. As I said, everyone could love our music, we don't search a kind of audience, we want all the audience!
X: Do you have any albums or expect any soon?
ALD: We've something like 100 songs, a whole discography which waits to be released At the moment we've chosen 10 new tracks, 2 taken from Latex (De)Generation, and one cover for our debut, but as I said, we want a fuckin' deal to release it.
X: If you could put together your own fantasy tour, what bands would you have?
ALD: It's a beautiful question, but hard to answer. All my heroes are dead, dying or sold-out!!! If I had a time-machine I say Dead Boys or Vampire Love Dolls, but they're split out. So I say Marilyn Manson. Probably Icy or Joseph could say Duran Duran, Motley Crue, Kiss, W.A.S.P., they're '80ies clichè worship. ahahahahahahah
X:What inspires the music/lyrics?
ALD: About the music all that I can say ('cause they are written by Icy &
P.P.69) is we take inspiration from real experiences seen by machine eyes and
so love, hate, sex, violence are deconstructed and enslaved to out technocratic
association called Latexxx Teens. About lyrics more or less is the same, I try
to give a voice to my soul, I'm a worship of man, I
believe every man must be god of himself!!! My lyrics can be considered Avant-guardist
anarchy, mixed with lust, plastic atmospheres and abyss visions.
X: Your answers are very unique. What are your influences?
ALD: Hard question, I could say Murderdolls & Wednesday 13, Skold &
Shotgun Messiah, Marylin Manson, Duran Duran, Dead Boys,
Rob Zombie, Jesus & Lucifer, Ourselves, Misfits, Lords Of The New Church,
Kiss, Motley Crue. We're influenced from
every fuckin' Rock 'N Roll freak that's walked this world.
X: What would we most likely find in your CD player?
ALD: About me in these days I'm listening to Wednesday 13's solo album & new Turbonegro's album. I'm a fuckin' Denim Demon!!!
X: What city or country do you as a band wish to see on day?
ALD: The City Of Angels and Hel(l)sinki
X: As a band, is there any sort of message that you wish to get across?
ALD: Latexxx Teens are THE MESSAGE. We want to de-program your minds, deconstruct
your souls and to invite everyone to walk between the lines where religion isn't
an alibi. We want to destabilish two thousand years of (s)aint-human creation,
'cause we're the NEW CREATION, we march against the indoctri-Nation, the next
step towards perfection!
Remember: "Heresy is the lifeblood of religions. It is faith that begets
heretics. There are no heresies in a dead religion." This is The Psychotic
Church Of Latex Manifesto, this our declaration of deconstruction of all religions".
X: Nice. Is there anything we can expect from you
guys in the near future?
ALD: For the moment take a look to our website and be sure to understand our
message. The next autumn will release two
awesome tributes in which Latexxx Teens has been involved. The first one is
a Sex Pistols tribute and we've covered "Anarchy In The U.K", the
second one is a Stiv Bators tribute and we've recorded a chaos addicted gloomy
version of "Ain't It Fun" featuring Killo & Luni from Decadenza
(www.decadenza.com). More news coming soon on our site. We're working on the
first live performance of Latexxx Teens too, but in this moment I can't say
more. Then expect the Chaos!!! We're ready & armed for success.
X: And last, what's your favorite body part?
Alex Love Dolls: my eyes
P.P.69: love every part of my self
Icy: my sexual object
As you can see we're fuckin' narcissists!!!
